My thoughts have sang..
Melodies of sleepless nights..
To my eyez
Which has drawn strength..
From the images of your smile..


Caressing my nights..
With pleasures that speak,
through my red-tinted eyez..
Looking at you,
With a heart, tendered by your care..


And so,
you've made me addicted..
In love with Insomnia,
Through the strength you've given,
to my frail heart..


While my eyez chase after slumber..
My thoughts hold it back..
Putting asunder..
Any affections created by their intimacy..


Just for a moment with you..
In the gardens of eternity..
Where love reigns sovereign..
And possibities are limitless..


And so,
for the love of Insomnia,
i have betrayed my eyez..
By denying her comfort
just to intimately connive with my thoughts.
To teleport with you..
Tonite,
To paradise..

Where fireflies are blue..
And affections are endlessly made anew..

Muted Conversation I

Recently i have been trying to understand why i feel the way i feel sometimes. Though not every time. These days i happen to stay aloof and struggle really hard to maintain new friendships. Even old friendships happen to be fading because of this problem. Right now, I'm not sure if the people around me are friends or just acquaintances. I don't know if this is a phase of growing up or an evolving symptom of social anxiety.   Depression is the norm. Everyone and everything in Nigeria have experienced some form of depression at some point, even rats and lizards. But I'm not writing to buttress on that.
